About Greg & Tonya

Greg and Tonya Sawyer have been American missionaries

for over 40 years, serving in ministry across 8 different states, doing a wide range of ministry from inner city work to rural church work in Texas. They are the proud parents of 8 children, 7 born to them, and 1 adopted, and have 9 grandchildren. The Sawyers have been serving as missionaries with the North American Mission Board for the majority of these years.

As a pastor, Greg has been active in preaching, worship, teaching, discipling, mentoring, and counseling. He has served in just about every area of ministry imaginable, including church planting, and has developed leadership skills that he has used to develop others. One recurring area of ministry God has led him to has been the ability to support and minister to church leaders during times of burnout. Greg has also worked to revive declining churches, such as Anchor Fellowship in Manitowoc, WI.

Tonya has been a faithful partner, applying wisdom and skill in ministry as she leads in worship, teaching, nurturing, and prayer, living as an example to the women around her of grace and gratitude. Tonya has worked with Greg in starting and planting 3 new works in Phoenix, AZ, Des Moines, IA, and Olympia, WA, as well as restarting in Manitowoc, WI.

Currently, Greg and Tonya are serving as missionaries in middle TN, working to serve the kingdom of God by engaging in community events, bible studies, and developing relationships that spread the Gospel of Jesus. They work together to strengthen the local church and establish new work wherever God leads them.

The Sawyers have also produced a weekly podcast called "Ask Mom & Dad," where they discuss life issues surrounding family and living for Jesus in a confused world. They spend time each week talking together about things that have been a part of their life journey and answering the various questions that have been posed to them along the way. Their favorite verse together is Zephaniah 3:17: "The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you by His love, He will exult over you with loud singing."
